Aloha everyone! I know what you might be thinking. We have done this before. Well I am back and I think this time, I have some basics figured out. I hope you are enjoying my website, I truly enjoy working on it for you all. I am surrounded by such beauty here in Hawaii and I really do wish to share it with as many people as I can. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, which should make my blogging life rather easy right? Well that’s the theory and the plan. I want to share as many photographs as I can which is why I started this year with a Picture of the Day – http://lauramcdonell.com/365in2011/. I have been faithful in posting every day. I have received wonderful feedback and sometimes I am asked about the context of the photographs which is another reason why I wanted to renew my blogging life. While they may be worth a thousand words, sometimes a few hundred more can go a long way.
One of my issues with the new year has been the dreaded resolutions. Some of you may know through Facebook that I completed the Honolulu Marathon in December and this really had a profound effect on me. One of which was that I am done with resolutions. Not because the marathon was difficult, it was. But because I was so thoroughly exhausted in January and spent the month working on recovery, I came to realize that February may be a better time to make resolutions. Then I thought more about it and I have decided that I have a wish list of things I would like to accomplish, finish, change, or whatever else I want to do with the items on the list and I will give myself the freedom to adapt my plans when life decides to be in charge. I have to say it takes the pressure off just a bit and I am grateful for a new attitude. Not everything needs changing, some things just need revisiting, like this blog. So that’s my story. Welcome to my website, enjoy my photography and feel free to comment.
By the way, why does the calendar start on Sunday and yet Monday seems to be the start of the week?
Mahalo,
Laura
